MA / Medical Assistant - General Internal Medicine

About the role

The Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C) position at UW Medical Center-Montlake - General Internal Medicine at Roosevelt is a full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week) role. It operates Monday through Friday, Day Shift.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records
• Perform injections
• Prepare and clean exam rooms
• Submit medication prior authorizations
• Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to provider
• Act as a liaison between patient, patient’s family and providers
• Assist provider with procedures and medical exams
• Perform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values
• Auxiliary transport of patients as required

Requirements

• Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES or equivalent
• Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or must achieve this designation within 6 months of hire
• Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card

Qualifications

Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Pay

Pay Range: Minimum $28.27 hourly, Maximum $40.44 hourly
