MA/LPN - STPN North Covington
Summary of the Job
To provide medical assistance to the physician/nurse practitioner in a professional manner and to provide for patients in a caring, efficient and compassionate manner. To handle patient phone calls and care of patients in the office. Perform EKG's and CLIA waived tests as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Good working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 Coding
- Current BLS certifications through any ILCOR provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross
- Maintain composure under difficult and stressful conditions
- Maintain confidentiality
- Work independently with little supervision
- Display tact and diplomacy in inter-personal skills
- Keep BLS certification current at all times
LPN Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse diploma from an accredited school
- Current Licensed Practical Nursing license
- Maintain annual and continuing education credits; keep license current at all times
Medical Assistant Qualifications
- Accredited Medical Assistant Program Certification or equivalent on the job training consisting of 3 or more years
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program preferred
- Two to five years of experience in a physician office setting preferred
- Physician’s office experience preferred
- Experience with EPIC (EMR) a plus along with insurance processes required within a clinical setting
Physical Demands
- Must possess good physical health
- Standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time
- Lifting at least 50 pounds is required
- Work with a moderate level of noise
