MA/LPN - Pediatric Express Care Clinic

Summary of the Job

To provide medical assistance to the physician/nurse practitioner in a professional manner and to provide for patients in a caring, efficient and compassionate manner. To handle patient phone calls and care of patients in the office. Perform EKG's and CLIA waived tests as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma
• Good working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 Coding
• Current BLS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross
• Maintain composure under difficult and stressful conditions
• Maintain confidentiality
• Work independently with little supervision
• Display tact and diplomacy in inter-personal skills
• Keep BLS Certification current at all times

Preferred Qualifications

• Physician’s office experience preferred
• Experience with EPIC (EMR) a plus
• Insurance processes required within a clinical setting

• Must possess good physical health
• Standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time
• Lifting at least 50 pounds required
• Work with a moderate level of noise
• Constantly handle/feel, talk, hear, see
• Frequently reach
• Occasionally lift, carry, push/pull, balance, stoop, crouch
