MA, LPN, or EMT - Employee Health Services

About the role

Provides care to team members in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards, and PNHS policy. Under EOHS RN supervision, delivers disability case management, general nursing care, and health screening to team members. Assists EOHS in various health service programs, including:

• Coordinating pre-employment and annual health screening
• Administering medications per protocol (immunizations, immunoglobulin, over-the-counter medications)
• Providing first aid treatment
• Coordinating and consulting on team members’ ability to return to or continue work
• Evaluating medical leaves of absence

Ensures delivery of occupational health and safety services to all Park Nicollet Health Services team members, maintaining compliance with community and regulatory standards. On a rotating basis, provides Frontline coverage for EOHS, including answering telephone calls, greeting visitors, scheduling appointments, and supporting department clerical duties.

Requirements

We are open to filling this position with an LPN, MA, or EMT. Requirements for each role are outlined below:

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

• Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing
• Current state LPN license
• One or more years of nursing experience desirable (preferably in a related field)
• Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (in-person certification required)

Medical Assistant (MA)

• Graduate from a Medical Assisting program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES
• One or more years of experience desirable (preferably in a related field)
• Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (in-person certification required)

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

• Graduate of an accredited EMT program
• Current MN EMT license
• Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (in-person certification required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Accurate computer and keyboarding skills
• Ability to promote and maintain good patient relations and confidentiality
• One or more years of experience in Occupational Medicine or workers’ compensation
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Human relations sensitivity and customer service skills
• Listening and telephone etiquette skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology
