Ma Lab—Specialist

About the role
This position requires a motivated, organized person that can communicate and coordinate well with others and has experience and interest in cutting-edge systems biology approaches. The applicant will need previous academic laboratory experience, but training on specific assays and equipment will be provided. The applicant will need to be comfortable with research involving both experimental mice and human cells. Flow cytometry, cell signaling, and CRISPR screening assays will be integral to the research.
Qualifications
• Specialists appointed at the junior rank must possess (or in process of obtaining) a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) in BA/BS in immunology, molecular/cell biology, or a related science or at least four years of research experience (e.g., with instrumentation and research equipment, social science research methods, or creative activities).
• Specialists appointed at the Assistant rank must possess (or in process of obtaining) a master’s degree or a baccalaureate degree with 3 or more years of research experience.
• Specialists appointed at the Associate rank must possess (or in process of obtaining) a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or five to ten years of experience in the relevant specialization.
• Specialists appointed at the full rank must possess (or in process of obtaining) a terminal degree (or equivalent degree) or ten or more years of experience in the relevant specialization.
• In addition to the above, one or more years of rigorous, directly related work experience following degree completion, with murine and human immunology studies, cell signaling, molecular biological techniques (DNA and/or RNA extractions, spectral flow cytometry, quantitative PCR, CRISPR editing). Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bioinformatic analyses of single cell RNA sequencing data.
