MA II - Urology - Full Time - Days - 8hr West Covina (Pavilion)

About the Role

Prepare patients for provider exams, take vital signs, record patient history, and assist in office procedures. Administer treatment, medications, and injections as ordered. Conduct pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patient charts prior to appointments with recent test results and correspondence. Call patients regarding test results as instructed by the provider.

Perform blood collection by venipuncture and arterial puncture. Participate in data entry, specimen processing and preparation, retrieval of laboratory order information, and ensure the quality of blood specimens. Communicate with clients to resolve specimen concerns as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required or 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in lieu of High School Diploma
• Completion of Medical Assistant Program required
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
• Three to five (3-5) years in a healthcare setting preferred
• Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques and medical/laboratory terminology required
• One to two (1-2) years of experience assisting in performing laboratory assays preferred
• Computer skills and excellent customer service skills
• BLS required within 90 days of hire/transfer
• Completion of annual Medical Assistant Competency training
• Current California CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Technician) certificate or completion of an external MA Phlebotomy training

Pay

$24.15 - $36.47 per hour
