M-Power Regional Manager – Miami

About the role

The M-Power Regional Manager – Miami is responsible for leading the day-to-day implementation of Guitars Over Guns' M-Power mental health & wellness program in the Miami region. This role supports the holistic well-being of students, mentors, and program teams by strengthening trauma-informed, healing-centered practices across regional programming.

Responsibilities

• M-Power Program Management, Intern Partnerships, and Wellness Support
• Recruit, onboard, place, train, and supervise social work interns, Wellness Mentors, and other M-Power support roles in the Miami region.
• Sustain and build partnerships with graduate programs, universities, and community agencies to recruit, place, and support social work interns and strengthen the regional M-Power pipeline.
• Complete supervision, documentation, and coordination requirements connected to graduate school partners, internship programs, and higher education institutions.
• Conduct site visits, observations, coaching, and check-ins to ensure M-Power supports are effectively integrated into after-school and community-based programming.
• Triage red flag responses, student concerns, and urgent wellness needs; ensure action plans, follow-up steps, and appropriate referrals are completed in collaboration with relevant staff and partners.
• Develop and maintain a regional resource map to connect students, mentors, families, and staff with mental health, wellness, crisis, basic needs, and community-based supports as needed.
• Trauma-Informed Practice, Program Evaluation, and Wellness Programming
• Collaborate with the Miami Programs Team to integrate trauma-informed, healing-centered, and wellness principles into programming, mentor practice, staff support, and student experiences.
• Design, coordinate, and facilitate wellness sessions, workshops, wellness circles, summits, Camp GOGO activities, and other M-Power programming focused on mental wellness, artistic expression, self-care, coping skills, emotional regulation, and resilience.
• Provide direct wellness coaching and supportive check-ins for students, mentors, and staff as appropriate, with a focus on identifying obstacles, developing wellness goals, and connecting participants to additional resources when needed.
• Support program evaluation by collecting data, tracking participation, documenting interventions, measuring impact, identifying trends, and recommending improvements to M-Power services and regional implementation.
• Support the development of M-Power training materials, curricular resources, professional development content, and staff or mentor learning opportunities.
• High School Readiness, Senior Caseload, and Post-Secondary Planning
• Provide post-high-school readiness programming and guidance for GOGO Miami high school students, helping students begin exploring concrete next steps after graduation.
• Support high school students in understanding possible pathways, including college, trade school, workforce, military, entrepreneurship, arts, music, certificate programs, and other realistic next-step options.
• Manage a dedicated caseload of GOGO Miami high school seniors and meet with students regularly to discuss post-secondary goals, track progress, and identify next steps.
• Help each senior develop a concrete post-secondary plan that includes action steps, deadlines, required documents, applications, financial aid or scholarship needs, job readiness steps, transportation considerations, and relevant referrals.
• Research and connect students to relevant resources, including scholarships, college access programs, trade programs, workforce development programs, internships, job readiness opportunities, financial literacy resources, and community-based supports.
• Coordinate professional development opportunities for high school students, with additional individualized support for seniors, including resume and cover letter support, interview preparation, career days, college and career fairs, job readiness trainings, financial literacy workshops, and interest-based workshops.

Qualifications

• Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE-accredited program; minimum two years post-MSW social work practice experience; eligibility and willingness to be approved by partner universities as an MSW Field Instructor; completion of required university Field Instructor/supervision training.
• Three to five years of experience working with youth, diverse populations, communities of color, or youth from under-resourced communities.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care, healing-centered practice, youth development, and systemic barriers affecting marginalized communities.
• Experience supervising interns, staff, volunteers, teaching artists, or direct service teams.
• Experience building partnerships with graduate programs, universities, community agencies, or internship placement partners preferred.
• Experience designing or facilitating mental health, wellness, youth development, post-secondary readiness, or arts-based programming.
• Familiarity with Miami mental health, wellness, youth development, college access, workforce development, and community-based resources.
• Strong communication, facilitation, organization, case management, and project management skills.
• Comfortable learning new software, entering data, maintaining records, and using systems consistently.
• Licensed or certified in a relevant mental health discipline preferred, such as LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, Registered Clinical Social Work Intern, or related credential.
• Current Florida Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential and Florida Board-approved Qualified Supervisor designation, or eligibility to obtain Qualified Supervisor status.
• Being bilingual in Spanish or Haitian Creole is a plus.

Physical & Schedule Requirements

• This role is based in Miami and requires regular in-person availability at program sites, partner locations, meetings, trainings, events, and community-based activities.
• Some evening and weekend work will be required based on program schedules, events, professional development, and partnership opportunities.
• Local travel throughout Miami will be required.
• Completion of Youth Mental Health First Aid certification and other required trainings will be expected.
