About the role

The M/E Engineer 3 position within JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group focuses on completing increasingly complex mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities. This role involves developing estimates, analyzing systems, coordinating scopes of work, and providing input during the bid process.

Responsibilities

  • Makes decisions on routine matters and provides recommendations to supervisor.
  • Completes entry level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
  • Learns and assists with the shop drawing/submittal process.
  • Reviews design documents and identifies potential quality problems.
  • Develops sequencing requirements of various systems and provides solutions to meet the schedule requirements.
  • Performs job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met and work is completed in a quality manner.
  • Generates and issues the Commissioning Plan for approval to the appropriate parties.
  • Verifies deficiencies are corrected and submits commissioning documentation to owners.
  • Provides mentoring to less experienced co-workers.
  • Creates M/E tools and innovative solutions to continuously improve processes and work products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years construction and/or engineering experience.

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.
  • Communication skills, verbal and written (Intermediate).
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Intermediate).
  • Ability to read and understand plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Develops proficiency in basic JE Dunn construction M/E tools and software.
  • Knowledge of means and methods of construction management.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.

Skills
