M&A Strategy & Governance Manager

We offer comprehensive end-to-end support and advisory services, covering areas such as valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and sustainability.
About the role
The M&A Integration & Divestiture (I&D) team focuses on the period between the announcement of a merger, acquisition, or divestiture and the closing (and post-close) activities of that transaction. As a Manager, you will lead and deliver small engagements or components of larger, complex engagements that identify, design, and implement creative business solutions for companies.
Responsibilities
- Provide service excellence by identifying key client business issues and determining client needs through innovative assessment approaches.
- Evaluate and validate analysis, developing recommendations for the client in the context of the overall engagement.
- Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables and effectively manage team(s) and day-to-day relationships to ensure exceptional performance.
- Lead projects or workstreams, managing and prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Guide deal execution by aligning integration or divestiture strategies, Day 1 plans, and future-state goals to maximize value in complex market conditions.
- Serve as a mentor to staff, director in delivery transformation, industry expert, and engagement leader while participating in business development activities.
- Support major, market-shaping mergers and divestitures with deep functional and industry knowledge, as well as data and analytics-enabled approaches.
- Manage activities such as Day 1 certification, development of workplans and milestones, identification of functional interdependencies, facilitating cutover planning, testing, execution, or end-state blueprinting.
- Prepare clients for Day 1 implementation of an integration or manage costs and timelines to minimize business disruption during divestitures.
Requirements
- 6+ years of M&A or M&A service delivery experience in areas such as:
- Setting engagement objectives and scope, developing work plans, and coordinating activities between work streams.
- Designing deliverable content to reflect the engagement contract and client needs.
- Managing cross-functional teams across all phases of the M&A lifecycle, including due-diligence, pre-close, and post-merger integration.
- Providing advisory services to corporate and private equity buyers for mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs, investment and financing structures, disposition alternatives, and post-transaction activities.
- Partnering with senior executives to align M&A with corporate strategy for profitable growth.
- Providing industry insight and analytical support using data mining, pattern matching, data visualization, and predictive modeling tools.
- Leading aspects of the proposal development process.
- Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of consulting and/or industry experience; alternatively, an MBA with 4+ years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to travel up to 50%, on average.
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

- Recent experience working in a professional services consulting firm.
- An MBA or advanced degree.
Pay
The wage range for this role is $155,700 to $306,800. At Deloitte, compensation decisions depend on skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and business needs. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to program rules.
