About the role
A highly respected regional firm is seeking a senior corporate attorney to join its M&A and Private Equity practice groups as a partner. This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned transactional lawyer with a portable book of business (minimum $500,000) to take a leadership role within a growing platform. The role offers flexibility between the firm’s NYC and Long Island offices.
Key Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience in M&A, private equity, and general corporate law
- Portable book of business of at least $500,000
- Admission in good standing to the New York Bar; New Jersey admission a plus
- Strong client-facing skills with the ability to lead deals across a variety of industries
- Experience with private equity transactions or fund formation preferred
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and project management skills
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients—including private equity funds, family offices, and founders—on complex M&A transactions
- Lead deal teams in drafting and negotiating purchase agreements, joint ventures, and fund documents
- Handle entity formation, corporate governance, and commercial contracts
- Manage client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across departments in a supportive, entrepreneurial environment
