This is a part-time, 10-month position (August–May) averaging 34 hours per week, with a schedule of 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lyceum Café Manager with daily production needs for customers.
- Prepare multiple specialty coffee drinks.
- Support ordering, stocking, and monitoring food quality and facility sanitation.
- Maintain the register and balance the cash drawer daily.
- Monitor student labor and hours.
- Assist the manager with scheduling needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Previous barista experience.
- Food Safety certified or state certified in food protection/Level 2 (or willingness to certify).
- Proficiency with math and Excel.
- Currently authorized to work in the United States (Ashland University will not sponsor or take over sponsorship for an employment visa).
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to provide a high level of customer service.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
Physical Demands
On your feet most of the day, with limited administrative duties.
