LVN - SNF West - Chula Vista Medical Center - Evenings - Part Time

About the role

This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with SEIU‑UHW. Employees must join the union within 31 days of hire and remain a member for the duration of the agreement. The role will be posted internally for 7 days from September 15 2026 to September 23 2026 and is open only to existing members of the ratified SEIU Bargaining Unit, whose contract expires September 30 2027.

Responsibilities

• Performs individualized nursing care for patients/families under the direction of an RN.
• Uses and practices basic assessment data collection, participates in planning, executes interventions in accordance with the Plan Of Care and contributes to evaluation of outcomes.
• Communicates to ensure patient/family are educated about the Plan Of Care and planned treatments.

Requirements

• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) – American Heart Association (required)
• California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – CA Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians (required)

Qualifications

• 1 year CNA or LVN experience in a clinical setting (preferred)
• Experience in the respective department (preferred)
• Vocational Nurse IV Therapy/Blood Withdrawal Certification (preferred; certificate to be provided by employee)
• IV Therapy/Blood Withdrawal Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire and maintained by the department (required)

Pay

Hourly pay range: $30.370 – $37.950 – $42.510 (minimum – midpoint – maximum)

Schedule

• Shift start time: 3 PM
• Shift end time: 11:30 PM
• Shift length: 8 hours (AWS Hours Requirement 8/40 – 8 hour shift)
• FTE: 0.6
• Weekend requirements: every other weekend
