Job Summary
About the role
This position provides nursing care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse or advanced practice provider. It involves observing nursing interventions and assisting medical staff to ensure optimal care.
Responsibilities
- Exhibits excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, providers, and co-workers; shows courtesy, compassion, and respect.
- Provides therapeutic patient care in accordance with the plan established by the physician/advanced practice provider.
- Transcribes physician/advanced practice provider orders and communicates changes to the registered nurse.
- Administers specified medications accurately and follows the provider’s order within the scope of practice.
- Executes treatments such as urinary catheterizations, intravenous catheter placements, and suctioning procedures.
- Adheres to infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
- Performs related patient care functions like taking vital signs, wound care, and collecting specimens.
- Aids in examinations and treatments by selecting and passing instruments, providing support, and restraining the patient.
- Documents patients’ condition, identifies unexpected findings, and reports emergencies to the registered nurse/advanced practice provider.
- May assist in starting and maintaining intravenous flows, performing venipunctures, and collecting specimens.
- Ensures cleanliness of the nursing module/station, patient exam rooms, and patient care equipment.
- Provides a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
- Communicates effectively verbally and non-verbally.
- Supports patient communication and message management, including emails and call center messages.
- Administers pulse oximetry, humidification therapy, spirometry, oxygen therapy, and suctioning procedures.
- Documents care in Health Connect according to policy, procedures, guidelines, and protocols.
- Participates in staff meetings and in-service programs.
- Assists in ordering and distributing supplies and equipment.
- Accepts verbal and telephone orders from physicians/advanced practice providers.
- Assists in coordinating the discharge process.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum twelve (12) months or greater LVN direct patient care experience within the last three (3) years.
- Vocational Nurse License (California).
- Basic Life Support certification.
- IV Certification and Blood Withdrawal Certification preferred.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in medical office, acute care, home care services, and skilled nursing facility settings.

Pay
The posted pay range is $34.14 - $36.93 per hour. Actual base pay determined at offer will be based on labor market data, internal alignment, and a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
Schedule
The position includes rotating weekends and holidays. It also floats within the established seniority section.
Location
Primary Location: California, Riverside, Riverside Medical Offices 2.
Travel
Yes, 50% of the time.
Work Setting
