About the Role

A Center Medical Specialist in a plasma donation center is responsible for donor assessment, education, and safety. You will perform physical examinations, review medical history to determine donor eligibility, and build rapport with donors to ensure customer satisfaction and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Conduct donor assessments, including physical examinations and medical history reviews.
• Educate donors on health, potential hazards, and implications of test results.
• Evaluate and manage donor injuries or adverse events.
• Assess donor health history, medications, and suitability for donation.
• Assist in staff training and administer the employee hepatitis vaccination program.
• Ensure donor safety and confidentiality in a plasma donation setting.

Qualifications & Skills

• Licensed or certified as EMT-Basic, EMT-Advanced, Paramedic, RN, LPN, or VVN in the state of employment.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, bending, lifting, and reaching.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination, vision, hearing, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, adapt to changing demands, and handle sensitive information.
• Comfortable working in a biological environment with exposure to fluids and cold temperatures, using personal protective equipment.
