About the Role
Supports healthcare providers by assisting with patient care, clinical tasks, and administrative duties under supervision. Responsibilities include documenting patient interactions, performing diagnostic tests (e.g., EKGs, spirometry), managing supplies, and maintaining equipment. May assist with procedures like sigmoidoscopies and cardiac stress tests, and ensure compliance with safety and confidentiality standards.
LVNs administer medications, provide patient education, and support immunization programs, while Medical Assistants handle patient preparation, record review, and basic care activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient care and clinical tasks under supervision
- Document patient interactions and maintain accurate records
- Perform diagnostic tests such as EKGs and spirometry
- Manage medical supplies and maintain clinical equipment
- Assist with medical procedures (e.g., sigmoidoscopies, cardiac stress tests)
- Ensure compliance with safety and confidentiality standards
- Administer medications (LVNs only)
- Provide patient education and support immunization programs (LVNs only)
- Prepare patients, review records, and provide basic care (Medical Assistants only)
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Relevant certifications (LVN license or Medical Assistant certification)
- Prior healthcare experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control, and patient care procedures
