(LVN) New Graduate LVN - Float Team - 140451

About the role

This position is available as a part of the Ambulatory Float Team at UC San Diego Health. The role involves performing a variety of patient care activities in support of clinic activity under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and assist in patient triage processing
• Prepare and assist with patient examinations
• Administer medications
• Draw blood and collect and prepare laboratory tests
• Provide patient education and perform venipuncture and IV access
• Able to prioritize critical demands and work in a team environment

Requirements

• License as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) issued by the state of California by start date
• BART or BLS certification at time of hire with a commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of hire date
• Less than six (6) months of LVN experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in Intravenous Therapy issued by the state of California (LVN IV)
• Phlebotomy certification
• Primary Care experience
• Ambulatory experience
• Point of Care testing experience
• Procedure experience

Special Conditions

• Able to work flexible hours which may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and some overtime, if necessary, for unexpected staffing issues
• Able to work various locations based on business needs

Pay, Benefits & Schedule

The annual full pay range for this position is $67,756 - $84,209. The hourly equivalent is $32.45 - $40.33. The hiring pay scale is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The position is a career appointment with an appointment percentage of 80%. The work schedule is 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.
