LVN/LPT Nurse Temp

Essential Functions

• Direct patient care and assessment; including the reporting of observed changes in mental status and/or physical condition, response to emergencies, and safety risks
• Completes documentation in an efficient and timely manner, including nursing assessments, transcription of M.D.s' phone orders
• Knowledge of medication administration records, vital sign monitoring
• Attends and participates in treatment planning and professional staff meetings
• Call in medications to pharmacy and pick up
• Provides in-service training to technical staff on medications, documentation, and monitoring of vital signs
• Provides ongoing patient education on all aspects of medications and other health issues including hygiene
• Maintains supplies and reports needs to Facility Manager
• Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and educational support to patients and families
• Solves patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance from health care support personnel
• Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures
• Maintains continuity among nurses by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to weekend nurse

Requirements

• Valid California Nursing License LVN/LPT
• CPR/ BLS card
• Minimum of one year experience as a working nurse. Psych or chemical dependence background preferred
• Good communication skills and basic computer literacy

Pay & Benefits

This is a Temp (2 months) Full-time, onsite position. Payrate: $80,000 - 85,000
