LVN, Long Term Care (Per-Diem, Night Shift)

About the role

Performs procedures which require specialized training for general nursing care and related services for assigned patients, under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Medical Doctor (MD), in accordance with established policy. Participates in the planning for and provision of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Use aseptic technique in treatments such as sterile dressings, irritations, and cauterizations.
• Provide functional direction to ancillary personnel.
• Provide care for assigned patients, including admission assessments and ongoing re‑assessments per departmental policy.
• Assist in developing a prioritized interdisciplinary plan of care for each patient.
• Implement and coordinate the plan of care using appropriate organizational and reporting mechanisms.
• Implement individual teaching plans, patient teaching protocols, and discharge plans with emphasis on patient decision‑making.
• Perform assigned clinical procedures (e.g., phlebotomy, injections, drug screens, etc.).
• Administer medications.
• Order and restock supplies according to established par levels.
• Maintain neatness and cleanliness in assigned areas (pre‑op, PACU, corridors, utility rooms, lounges, locker rooms, restrooms) and perform scheduled cleaning.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience (preferred).
• Licenses / Certifications
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) licensure in the state of practice (required).
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (required).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy (required).
  • Arrhythmia certification (preferred).
• Organizational Requirements
  • All associates must receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable (medical and religious exemptions may apply).
  • Adventist Health participates in E‑Verify.

Pay

The estimated base pay for this position is $30.01 to $41.16. Additional individual compensation may be available through differentials, extra‑shift incentives, bonuses, etc. A comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.

Schedule

12‑hour shift length.
