LVN Emergency Department (Per Diem, Night Shift)

About the Role

Performs specialized procedures for general nursing care and related services for assigned patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Medical Doctor (MD). Participates in planning and delivering patient care, using aseptic techniques for treatments such as sterile dressings, irrigations, and cauterizations. Provides functional direction to ancillary personnel.

Responsibilities

• Provides care for assigned patients under RN supervision, following established standards and nursing processes.
• Performs admission assessments and ongoing re-assessments based on departmental policies.
• Assists in developing a prioritized interdisciplinary plan of care for each patient.
• Implements and coordinates the plan of care using organizational skills and reporting mechanisms.
• Develops and implements individual teaching plans, including Patient Teaching Protocols and discharge plans, emphasizing patient decision-making.
• Performs clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, injections, and drug screens.
• Administers medications.
• Orders and restocks supplies according to established par levels.
• Maintains cleanliness in assigned areas (e.g., Pre-op, PACU, utility rooms, lounges, locker rooms, restrooms) on a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Education/GED or equivalent (preferred).
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience (preferred).
• Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) licensure in the state of practice (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification from an approved vendor (required).
• Arrhythmia certification (preferred).

Pay

The estimated base pay for this position is $30.01 to $41.16 per hour. Additional compensation may include differentials, shift incentives, or bonuses. A comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
