LVN Charge Nurse (2-10p)

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise the nursing unit and coordinate the effective use of personnel, supplies, equipment and facilities.
• Reviewing staffing patterns and census of nursing units; reassigning personnel when necessary to ensure residents needs and budgetary controls are met.
• Assisting in creating and implementing care plans that address individual residents' needs.
• Administering medications, IV therapy, gastronomy tube management as well as some wound care.
• Monitoring residents and communicating changes to physicians.
• Ensuring appropriate documentation of resident care and maintaining medical records to ensure safe, efficient and therapeutic care to residents.
• Troubleshooting and investigating complaints, taking necessary action to resolve problems as necessary.

Requirements

• LVN License, in good standing.
• 1 year of experience as a nurse, experience in a long-term care facility preferred.

• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and maintain confidentiality and react decisively in emergencies.
• Exceptional supervisory skills, taking a proactive role to supervising and developing nursing team.
• Excellent training skills, ability to provide hands-on training to nursing staff.
• Good problem solving and independent thinking skills.
• Case management skills, comfort with client relations.
