About the role

AKUA is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state of California. New graduates are welcome to apply. Must have passed NCLEX. Mental health, detox, and residential drug and alcohol treatment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works under the supervision of the Clinical Director.
• Maintains professional standards and follows the treatment policies of the organization, The Joint Commission, and Federal/State Laws and Regulations.
• Responsible for all medication as ordered by the Medical Director, Program Physician, and maintaining accurate accounting of all medication received and observed.
• Responsible for the safekeeping of all medication stock and the records required by the DEA, FDA, JCAHO, and ADP.
• Trains all clinical staff about medications, observation of medications, and medication destruction.
• Responsible for all detox assessments including CIWA, COWS, vitals, etc.
• Responsible for all medical documentation in the EMR including all physician notes and medication orders.
• May be responsible for urine collection and processing in conjunction with clinical technicians, reading test results as ordered by Program Physicians, and completing all related forms.
• Coordinates all internal and external medical and lab appointments.

Requirements

• LVN/LPN license (required).
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification (required).
• Valid California Driver’s License (required).
• Current health screen (required).
• TB clearance (required).

Pay

Base salary: $35–$37 per hour.

Schedule

Thursday–Monday, 2:30 pm–11:00 pm.
