Luxury Beauty Advisor

About the role

The Luxury Beauty Advisor (LBA) is responsible for maximizing sales in Luxury brands (including color cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance) by engaging guests to determine their individual needs and assisting them in the selection and purchase of merchandise. This role supports the Experience Manager (EM) through a focus on performance (service/retail sales and in-store events), people (guest service and associate culture), and process (operating procedures and compliance standards). The LBA represents the image, products, and culture of Ulta Beauty and the Luxury brands they support.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed Luxury brand sales and clientele goals and contribute to the store’s overall retail and service sales, guest loyalty, retail shrink, and omni-channel sales targets.
• Build the business by achieving sales targets, using product services, data capture, and guest loyalty programs (including credit and the Ulta Beauty app) to grow guest return rates.
• Provide exceptional guest service by greeting and engaging every guest, personalizing service, offering samples, recommending complementary products/services, and informing guests of promotions, events, and services.
• Build, maintain, and grow a customer list for Luxury brand sales by delivering superior service daily.
• Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously and efficiently.
• Demonstrate solid knowledge of Luxury brands, their heritage, and product benefits to share with guests and the team.
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
• Grow and enhance business by executing exclusive product demonstrations and supporting in-store events that deliver an unrivaled guest experience while meeting sales goals.
• Participate in promotions and marketing initiatives across all categories/departments of the store.
• Use the clientele system to capture guest information, follow up consistently, and build loyalty.
• Stay informed about new and existing industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
• Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
• Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates, peers, and guests.
• Maintain strong relationships with Luxury brand partners through training, event execution, and promotions.
• Address and resolve guest concerns according to Ulta Beauty’s philosophy and standards.
• Collaborate with managers and associates to grow the business.
• Attend seasonal seminars and participate in ongoing training, including brand and category education, to drive professional development and sales performance.
• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
• Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code, including wearing brand assets as directed.
• Keep assigned work areas replenished, signed, faced, and ensure testers are available and maintained according to hygiene standards.
• Maintain outstanding store operational standards, including cleanliness of Luxury brand areas, salesfloor, restrooms, cashwrap, backroom, and break area.
• Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, physical inventory procedures, and shipment processing.
• Follow loss prevention best practices and provide exceptional guest service to protect company assets.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred.
• Cosmetology or demonstrator license where required by applicable state law.
• Cosmetics artistry experience preferred.
• Passion for and competency in sales, products, and service.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle guest concerns proactively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule

• Work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Attend brand-sponsored trainings.

Working Conditions

• Frequent mobility during shift.
• Frequent standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and twisting.
• Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs. during shift.
• Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.
