About the role

The Division of Thoracic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Mass General Brigham is seeking faculty candidates with interest in Lung Transplantation and general thoracic surgery to join the faculty as an Instructor, Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will support the lung transplant program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, with lung transplantation and ECMO care constituting at least 50% of their time. General thoracic surgery practice is possible for the remaining time.

Responsibilities

  • Perform lung transplantation, including harvest, implantation, EVLP, patient evaluation, and perioperative care
  • Perform thoracic surgery robotically
  • Engage in academic and research activities, including seeking funding and establishing a clinical transplantation or research portfolio in thoracic surgery
  • Participate in the education and teaching of medical students and residents on the Transplant Service and within MGB Thoracic Surgery

Requirements

  • MD or equivalent degree
  • Board eligible or Board certified in Thoracic Surgery
  • Training and experience in lung transplantation
  • Eligible for a Massachusetts Medical License
  • Commitment to excellence in quality and patient safety
  • Experience working with a broad range of faculty, staff, and patients
