About the Role

Supervises and ensures safety of children during recess and lunch time at an elementary school.

Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned
• Achiets proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards
• Aids in cleaning up spills and wiping down tables
• Aids students opening milk/juice cartons and food packages
• Directs visitors to office
• Enforces all school rules of student behavior
• Inspects playground grounds and equipment, notifying school administrator of necessary repairs and/or improvements
• Issues verbal warnings, writes up discipline referrals, reports misconduct, and requests assistance from appropriate personnel as required
• Limits students sought by building administration and escorts students to office as needed
• Maintains playground and/or lunchroom to deter behavioral problems, etc.
• Maintains supervision of student(s), ensuring their compliance to district/building policies/playground rules and regulations
• Supervises school grounds/parking lots
• Supervises student(s), checks all student passes, and keeps students out of unauthorized areas
• Works with administration to develop and enforce security policies and procedures

Requirements

• First Aid/CPR - American Heart Asc. / Red Cross / Etc.
• High school graduate - high school diploma or equivalent

Qualifications

• Knowledge of policies, procedures, and overall district functions
• Ability to establish and maintain accurate record keeping, document management, and filing systems
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from many diverse backgrounds and professions including supervisors, administrators, coworkers, staff, students, parents, and the general public
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to greet and interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to manage simultaneous demands and set clear priorities
• Ability to perform routine bookkeeping and clerical accounting tasks effectively and efficiently
• Ability to work days, hours, locations, and assignments as directed by the supervisor within the position responsibilities
• Commitment to the education of students as a primary responsibility
• Computer proficiency including office productivity applications
• Knowledge of Special Education, other educational programming, and associated legal requirements as related to the needs of the students assigned to the teacher
• Understanding of data privacy laws and their implications for the educational community
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training as required
