- Ability to work effectively with children in a school setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain order and ensure student safety
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow school policies and procedures
About the Role
To provide a safe, orderly, and positive environment in the cafeteria during lunch periods by supervising students, promoting appropriate behavior, and ensuring compliance with school rules.
Reports to: Principal / Assistant Principal
Responsibilities
- Supervise students in the cafeteria during assigned lunch periods.
- Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules fairly and consistently.
- Assist in maintaining an orderly flow of students entering, eating, and exiting the cafeteria.
- Promote respectful, safe, and positive interactions among students.
- Respond to and report incidents, accidents, or emergencies to administration as required.
- Assist with cleaning and organization of tables and surrounding areas as needed.
- Encourage good manners, appropriate noise levels, and safe conduct.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administrators.
- Serve as a positive role model for students.
Pay
$23 per session (see LBSEA Contract 2026-2029, Salary Guides for Yearly Stipends, pp. 81-83).
