Lunchroom Assistant Substitute, St. Brendan, Bothell

About the role

St. Brendan Catholic School in Bothell, WA (approximately 25 minutes from Seattle) seeks a Lunchroom Assistant Substitute to assist with lunchroom operations and student supervision as needed. This is an on‑call position serving one class per grade from preschool through 8th grade, totaling about 240 students. The school’s mission, in partnership with parents and the parish community, is to educate and empower students to act as Disciples of Christ, pursue academic excellence, and serve the Church and global community.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during lunch periods, ensuring a safe, positive, and orderly environment.
• Assist students as needed during lunchtime and reinforce appropriate behavior and lunchroom expectations.
• Assist with lunch setup, student check‑in, food distribution, and other lunchroom operations as needed.
• Clean and sanitize lunch tables, counters, and other lunchroom surfaces between lunch periods.
• Assist with sweeping and general lunchroom cleanup.
• Follow school health, safety, and sanitation procedures.
• Work collaboratively with school staff to ensure efficient lunchroom operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
• Must pass a background check and complete required Safe Environment training.

• Ability to provide appropriate student supervision and maintain a safe, orderly lunchroom environment.
• Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and cleaning.
• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and follow established procedures.

Pay

The range of hourly rate is $18‑$22 per hour. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
