Lunch/ Recess Aide

The Chelmsford Public Schools is accepting applications for a Lunch/ Recess Aide position at Harrington Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. The District reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill it based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.

• Supervise students during recess and lunch periods.
  • Provide assistance to students in opening lunch materials, cleaning tables, and monitoring social interactions during the lunch period.
  • Closely monitor students for safety, social interactions, and appropriate play during recess.
• Work on a team of 8 recess aides to provide a safe and caring environment for all students.
• Assist teachers and other professional personnel in classroom, office, and library with miscellaneous tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• A High School Diploma.
• Experience working with children.
• Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the elementary level.
• Experience working with age-appropriate students in a school setting.

Reports to: School Principal

Work Days: 181-day work year

Hours per week: 15 hours per week
