About the role
You will play a foundational role in our daily operations by managing the flow of critical building materials for our residential customers. This position offers the chance to work in a high-energy, outdoor environment where your physical contributions directly support local construction and home improvement. Responsibilities
- Facilitate the efficient movement of lumber and building materials to meet daily customer and contractor needs.
- Execute the pulling and staging of complex orders to ensure accuracy for local delivery and pickup.
- Operate forklifts and specialized material-handling equipment safely following comprehensive internal training.
- Organize and maintain inventory levels across the lumberyard to optimize accessibility and workflow.
- Absorb and unload heavy materials from trucks and carts.
- Collaborate with delivery drivers to streamline loading dock operations and maintain strict turnaround times.
- Uphold rigorous safety standards and cleanliness protocols to ensure a hazard-free work environment for the team.
Requirements
- Ability to consistently lift and maneuver 50–75 lbs in an active, hands-on setting.
- Resilience and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions throughout the year.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Proven reliability and a strong work ethic as evidenced by past professional or personal experience.
- Capacity to follow complex safety instructions and work effectively within a team-oriented structure.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a lumberyard, warehouse, or construction labor role.
- Basic functional knowledge of residential building materials, including lumber grades and panel types.
- Prior experience operating heavy machinery or material handling equipment.
