Lumber Handler

About the role

Northwest Hardwoods is the premier Hardwood Lumber producer serving furniture, cabinets, molding, and millwork segments worldwide. We operate manufacturing facilities throughout the United States and have an immediate opening for a full-time Lumber Handler I in Loudonville, Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Handling, sorting, and stacking rough-cut lumber by dimension, species, and grade
• Working in open warehouses and keeping work areas safe and clean
• Safely transferring lumber from the production line to the lumber cart
• Banding runners to lumber packs
• Performing basic paperwork

Requirements

• Safety conscious with a positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment
• Maintain an excellent attendance record per policy
• Ability to work at a fast pace and be an oriented team player
• Pre‑employment physical and drug screen required
• Capable of lifting 50+ pounds on a regular basis
• Always required to wear personal protective equipment
• Participate in job rotation and cross‑training in other production‑related jobs to build additional skills
• High school diploma or GED equivalent, or be at least 18 years of age

Schedule

Four 10‑hour shifts, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday.
