About the role
You will ensure mechanical pumps meet customer requirements by assembling and testing components to deliver quality and on-time results. You will work closely with production, quality, and engineering stakeholders in an onsite, first-shift manufacturing/test environment (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM).
Responsibilities
- Assemble and test mechanical pumps using hand and power tools, test equipment, and inspection measurement equipment
- Interpret blueprints, engineering orders, assembly routes, test specifications, service bulletins, and customer requirements
- Identify malfunctions via test data and rework assemblies as instructed
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on test equipment and ensure calibration schedules are met
- Perform lockwiring, subassembly, and final detailing functions as needed
- Contribute to and participate in lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs
- Observe safety rules, 5S practices, and maintain a foreign object damage (FOD) free work area
- Assist in training less experienced team members and perform other related responsibilities
Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude and mechanical reasoning
- Two or more years of industry-related assembly/test experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and apply technical documentation (blueprints, test specs, engineering orders)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for lengthy periods
- Willingness to use required PPE and work around jet oil
- Basic math, effective verbal and written communication, and basic computer skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
Qualifications
- Aerospace or automotive mechanic/manufacturing experience (preferred)
Pay
$22.40 - $28.00/hour
Schedule
First shift, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
