Lube and Tire Technician

About the role

As a Lube and Tire Technician, you will perform non-technical service repairs such as oil changes, tire and wheel related services, alignments, flushes, and more. You will also drive customers, pick up parts, and maintain shop cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport customers to and from their residence or business using a company vehicle.
• Pick up parts, supplies, tires, etc. from vendors and/or the corporate office using a company vehicle.
• Operate company vehicle in a safe and courteous manner, obeying all traffic laws.
• Conduct State Safety and Emission Inspections following company and state guidelines.
• Perform tire mounting/dismounting, wheel balance, and tire rotation.
• Perform oil changes and other basic services at the direction of the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Observe and report vehicle condition, noting needed repairs or safety concerns.
• Document vehicle condition using the company’s Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order.
• Maintain cleanliness of the shop, including the service area, tire racks, showroom, and exterior.
• Follow all safety procedures and report concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.

Requirements

• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work a minimum of five days, including Saturdays.
• A general understanding of automotive mechanics is preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

The Lube and Tire Technician will be exposed to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The work environment temperature varies and may include extreme heat or cold. Safety goggles or other PPE may be required.

• Stand up to eight hours per day and walk to access various areas of the building.
• Bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly; full range of motion with arms and hands.
• Frequently feel, handle, or finger objects.
• Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds frequently.
• Communicate with customers and shop personnel.
• Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus.

Pay

Pay ranges from $15–$18 per hour, depending on experience.
