LPT/LVN

About the role

The Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) position is available in the EmPATH (Emergency Psychiatric Assessment, Treatment, and Healing) Unit at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing acute psychiatric or behavioral health crises.
• Works under the supervision of registered nurses and medical providers.
• Sustains rapid stabilization through therapeutic engagement, crisis intervention, medication administration, and continuous observation.
• Maintains a safe, trauma-informed, and healing environment focused on short-term emergency psychiatric care.

Requirements

• Current California LPT license, or California LVN license.
• Current BLS provider card.
• Care of the Agitated Patient (COAP) certification.
• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) program.
• Minimum 1-year clinical experience required; preferably in an acute or behavioral health setting.

Pay

• Starting pay range: LPT/LVN - $25.12 to $38.94 per hour.
