Essential Functions

  • Identifies and evaluates patient needs by way of telephone triage.
  • Administers medication including injections; documents medication given or prescribed by ordering physician as required by specialty.
  • Identifies patient and family education needs and provides instruction.
  • Recognizes and responds to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Adheres to the Clinical Services policies and procedures when documenting information in patient’s medical record.
  • Facilitates the flow of patients to maintain the integrity of the physician’s office.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Requires a great deal of walking, standing, moving and manipulating equipment, as well as lifting and moving objects, equipment and supplies.
  • Lifting up to 30 pounds may occasionally be required, depending on the specific style or type of care provided and must be able to push/pull a patient sitting in a wheelchair.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about the inside from the Care Team station to the exam rooms to interact with patients and stock supplies.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as nebulizer, fax machine, copier and computer printer.
  • Able to administer intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular injections.
  • Must be able to communicate accurately with Clinic staff, such as providers, patients, call center representatives, receptionists, Patient Financial Services, Managed Care, specialty pharmacies, etc.
  • May be exposed to live vaccines, blood-borne pathogens, and bio-hazardous materials.
  • Must be able to assist with procedures.

Requirements

  • LPN II: Required Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing and hold an active Florida state license. CPR certification. ACLS & PALS required within first 90 days of employment. IV certification required within 90 days of employment.
  • Preferred Education and Experience: Preferred two (2) years of experience in ER, critical care, urgent care, or Hospital setting.
  • PARAMEDIC: Required Education and Experience: Licensed Paramedic under the state of Florida. CPR certification. ACLS & PALS required within first 90 days of employment
  • Preferred Education and Experience: Preferred two years’ experience in the field, in ER or Urgent Care or setting.
