LPN - Resident Care Supervisor

Overview

Elderwood, committed to People Caring for People, seeks a Resident Care Supervisor (LPN) to join its clinical team. The position supports the general health and well-being of residents through nursing care, medication administration, and personal care oversight.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and administer or assist with medications to assigned residents; monitor residents participating in self-medication programs.
• Monitor the personal care provided by Resident Assistants.
• Absorb and assist Resident Assistants with direct care of residents, as needed.
• Report changes in condition, daily needs, and progress of residents to the Director of Nursing.
• Follow the plan of care for each resident.
• Ensure proper storage and distribution of controlled substances; maintain documentation in Case Notes, Medication Administration Records, and other required records.
• Assist in problem-solving related to staffing, supplies, and resident care during shifts.
• Maintain resident care standards and respect residents' rights and preferences in care and treatment.
• Receive and store lost/found articles and inform the Director of Nursing and/or Case Manager.
• Treat residents with respect and kindness at all times.

Qualifications

• Credentials as a Licensed Practical Nurse with a current State license required.
• Experience in geriatric nursing preferred.
• Effective organizational skills and ability to supervise department staff required.
• Ability to communicate and interact with residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors in English at an intermediate or more advanced level.
