LPN (PRN)
About the role
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct clinical care in the Sobering and Deflection Center, serving individuals experiencing acute intoxication, substance-related impairment, or behavioral health crises. Under the supervision of the Medical Director, the LPN performs medical screening, clinical observation, CLIA-waived testing, and administration of approved comfort medications to ensure participant safety and stabilization. The LPN supports diversion from emergency departments and the criminal justice system by delivering care grounded in trauma-informed practice and person-centered service delivery, consistent with OHA Sobering and Deflection Center program standards.
Skills/Requirements
- Current, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Oregon
- CPR/BLS certification
- Demonstrated knowledge of: Substance use intoxication and withdrawal; Trauma-informed and culturally responsive care
- Eligibility to perform CLIA-waived testing under organizational CLIA certificate
Preferred
- Experience in: Sobering or detoxification centers, Emergency or urgent care, Behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment, Community or correctional health settings
