About the Role

We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide general nursing care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with physician’s orders and established standards and protocols. This position integrates company values into daily practice and contributes to our commitment to excellence in patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provides skilled nursing care to patients as ordered by the physician and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Implements orders for medications and treatments in accordance with the nursing care plan as written by the RN.
  • Provides information to the Registered Nurse to assist in developing an individualized plan of care for each patient.
  • Participates in evaluating the effectiveness of interventions in relation to patient responses and seeks guidance when necessary.
  • Reports to supervisor on patient care rendered and problems concerning patients’ needs.
  • Helps identify patient problems and potential risks and contributes to the development of interventions.
  • Assists in identifying patient’s learning needs and reinforces self-care and other techniques.
  • Appropriately designates applicable charges to individual patients using the hospital’s established system.
  • May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies.
  • Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff, assessing risks and implementing precautions.
  • Complies with safety and Infection Prevention standards.
  • Maintains regular attendance and completes required trainings as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of the organization.

Requirements

  • Two years’ experience in an inpatient hospital setting; inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.
  • Current state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Current BLS certification.

Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of and adherence to current nursing theory, practice, and infection prevention standards.
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards (TJC, CMS) to ensure compliance.
  • Knowledge of clinical operations, procedures, and policies for patient care.
  • General computer skills, including data entry, word processing, email, and records management.
  • Critical thinking and effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and complete complex tasks.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection prevention standards.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to collaborate professionally with others at all levels of the organization.

Physical Requirements

  • A significant amount of standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling, often for prolonged periods.
  • Use of both gross and precise motor functions.
  • Lifting/exerting up to 50 lbs.
  • Possible exposure to bodily fluids.
  • Visual acuity required for patient assessment and documentation.
  • Acute hearing required for accurate patient assessment.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboards.
  • Close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay

$35 per hour
