Position Overview
The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).
PRIMARY CARE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Completes well visit and illness intake information.
- Provides direct care to patients.
- Performs quality assurance functions in the medical office setting.
- Documents accurately reason for visit and includes chief complaint.
- Completes ambulatory care summary by third visit and reviews at each subsequent visit.
- Performs and documents vital signs.
- Completes medication list according to established procedures.
- Obtains and records accurately patient history.
- Provides information to patients regarding prep, condition or medications under the direction of the LIP.
- Administers medications, immunizations, and other injections as ordered by LIP and provides accurate documentation.
- Performs echocardiograms, spirometry tests, audiometric tests, and applicable POCT as ordered by LIP.
- Obtains and tests urine specimens according to established protocol.
- Performs venipuncture to obtain blood samples according using universal precautions and established protocol.
- Traits patient phone calls and directs appropriately according to office procedure.
- Reviews laboratory and other test results daily and prioritizes them for LIP according to established policy.
- Completes competency assessments as required by CHS and regulatory agencies.
- Maintains laboratory, x-ray, and other test logs to monitor continuity of care.
- Documents quality control for point of care testing as assigned.
- Obtains and documents refrigerator temperatures for medications and specimens and takes appropriate action for out of range results.
- Demonstrates willingness to assist co-workers during periods of heightened patient activity.
- Prepares examination rooms for patients.
- Maintains clinical area and supplies.
- Performs other duties as assigned and may be assigned to other Capital Health Medical Group Practices as needed.
SPECIALTY CARE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Documents accurately reason for visit and includes chief complaint.
- Completes ambulatory care summary by third visit and reviews at each subsequent visit.
- Obtains and records accurately patient history.
- Performs and documents vital signs.
- Completes medication list according to established procedures.
- Performs applicable POCT as ordered by LIP.
- Affords assistance to physician in performing procedures.
- Establishes and maintains a safe and sterile environment that provides for the health, safety and security of patients.
- Reviews laboratory and other test results daily and prioritizes them for LIP according to established policy.
- Provides information to patients regarding prep or procedure under the direction of the LIP.
- Administers prescribed medication, therapies and treatments in accordance with licensed practical nursing standards.
- Identifies and labels patient information and records to ensure a high degree of accuracies.
- Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Prepares, operates and maintains equipment in accordance with established polices, procedures and practices for sterilization, safety and proper operational condition.
- Documents quality control for point of care testing as assigned.
- Obtains and documents refrigerator temperatures for medications and specimens and takes appropriate action for out of range results.
- Works with team members to achieve maximum productivity.
- Sets out for appropriate resources to increase practice knowledge.
- Demonstrates willingness to assist co-workers during periods of heightened patient activity.
- Completes competency assessments as required by Capital Health (CH) and regulatory agencies.
- Maintains clinical area and supplies.
- Maintains a safe and sterile environment that provides for the health, safety and security of patients.
- Performs necessary clerical and administrative functions such as scheduling, filing, ordering supplies and other activities to ensure proper functioning of department.
- Performs other duties as assigned and may be assigned to other Capital Health Medical Group Practices as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- Graduate of a state accredited licensed practical nursing program.
- NJ or PA license based on primary state office location required.
- Must attain second out of state LPN license (NJ or PA) within three months from date of hire.
- No previous experience required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Frequent physical demands include: Standing, Walking, Push/Pull, Twisting, Bending, Reaching forward, Wrist position deviation, Pinching/fine motor activities, Keyboard use/repetitive motion.
- Occasional physical demands include: Sitting, Climbing (e.g., stairs or ladders), Carry objects, Reaching overhead, Squat/kneel/crawl.
- Continuous physical demands include: Talk or Hear.
- Lifting: Floor to Waist 35 lbs., Waist Level and Above 25 lbs.
Sensory Requirements
- Very Accurate 20/40, Near Vision, Very Accurate 20/40, Far Vision, Color Discrimination, Accurate Depth Perception, Accurate Hearing.
Anticipated Occupational Exposure Risks
