LPN Per Diem - Family Medicine

As an LPN in Primary Care, you will support multiple providers in delivering exceptional, patient-centered care to a diverse patient population. As a member of the Patient Care Team, you will apply your knowledge of nursing theory and disease processes to provide high-quality nursing care appropriate to each patient's needs. Schedule

A caregiver in this per diem role works a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, Monday through Friday, between 12:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Beginning in January 2027, Saturday shifts will also be available from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Implement patient care.
• Complete nursing documentation.
• Assess and document pain management.
• Recognize and communicate changes in patients’ condition.
• Report pertinent information to a Charge Nurse or Physician.
• Follow code protocols.
• Assess, plan, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the patients' progress through the entire continuum of care in conjunction with the R.N. or physician.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• Knowledge of infection control practices.
• Computer literate.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• IV certification.
• Manual blood pressure certification.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent walking, sitting, and standing.
• Frequent talking and listening when giving instruction and explanations.
• Frequent use of the phone, fax machines, and occasional use of the computer.
• Work is heavy: constant lifting and moving patients, carrying equipment, supplies, and material up to 50 pounds without help and over 50 pounds with the help of mechanical devices or other personnel.
• Stooping, pushing, and pulling when moving patients into position for treatment.
• Reaching, handling, feeling, and manipulation of equipment into position.

Working Conditions

• The majority of the time is spent indoors in air-conditioned areas.
• Potential for exposure to blood and bloodborne pathogens is significant.
• Clinical exposure to patients requires the use of personal protective equipment.
• High exposure to infectious wastes such as blood and bodily fluids mandates the wearing of gloves, masks, gowns, and goggles as appropriate.
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
