Responsibilities
- Administering physician-ordered treatments and medications
- Providing respiratory support, including ventilator care and suctioning
- G-tube feeding and care
- Aiding with personal care and daily living activities
- Supporting individualized therapy and exercise programs
- Taking clients to school
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- If position requires IV therapy/management skills, must have graduated from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completed an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
- One year of professional nursing experience preferred
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
- Obtains and maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
Qualifications

Skills
- Knowledge of nursing principles for the patient/resident in the relevant setting
- Knowledge of medications and their effects on patients/residents
- Knowledge of patient/resident education principles to develop a self-care program
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe environment, specific to the home setting
- Ability to administer a variety of treatments and medications as directed
- Ability to document and maintain records
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients/residents, health care providers, and the public
- Ability to recognize problems and recommend solutions
- Ability to interpret, adapt, and follow guidelines and procedures
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
