LPN Orthopedics and Spine
About the role
Places patients in the examining room and ensures their comfort. Performs patient intake entry, obtains vital signs, and documents patient information. Assists physicians with examinations, treatments, and office surgeries. Performs phlebotomy and laboratory tests as required, adhering to state and federal regulations. Screens telephone calls, takes accurate clinical messages, and answers routine patient inquiries. Manages sterilization of non-disposable instruments and maintains appropriate logs. Prepares and administers medications and immunizations as directed by the provider. Handles medication and prescription questions, refill calls, and ensures accurate documentation. Obtains insurance prior authorizations for medications and communicates changes to providers and patients.
Responsibilities

- Affords assistance to physicians during examinations, treatments, and office surgeries.
- Carries out phlebotomy and laboratory tests as per practice protocols.
- Screens telephone calls, takes accurate clinical messages, and answers routine patient inquiries.
- Manages sterilization of non-disposable instruments and maintains appropriate logs.
- Prepares and administers medications and immunizations as directed by the provider.
- Handles medication and prescription questions, refill calls, and ensures accurate documentation.
- Obtains insurance prior authorizations for medications and communicates changes to providers and patients.
Requirements
- Use of computers, telephone, fax machine, copier, stethoscope, EKG machine, pulse oximeter, oxygen devices, wheelchairs, stretchers, scales, glucose monitor, and other patient care equipment necessary to perform required duties as appropriate to the scope of the practice.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent specific to Licensed Practice Nurse preferred
- 1+ position related experience
Skills
- Knowledge of computers, telephone, fax machine, copier, stethoscope, EKG machine, pulse oximeter, oxygen devices, wheelchairs, stretchers, scales, glucose monitor, and other patient care equipment necessary to perform required duties as appropriate to the scope of the practice.

Pay
$20.12 - $37.42
