About the role
Our Urgent Care Clinic is hiring for a Part-time and PRN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The LPN provides direct and indirect patient care, communicating with providers and co-workers about changes in patients’ clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. The LPN can respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment and perform general nursing duties with adequate supervision. These positions include shifts every other weekend. Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) are also encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care
- Communicate changes in patients’ clinical condition to providers and co-workers
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment
- Perform general nursing duties with adequate supervision
- Greet patients and answer telephone calls in a pleasant and helpful manner
- Read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, patients, providers, management, and the public
- Use a computer, clinic software, copy/fax/email equipment, telephone, and medical equipment efficiently
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Current licensure and registration with the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practice, including basic knowledge related to clinic nursing (biological, physical, social, and medical sciences)
- Ability to assess and care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Familiarity with clinic functions, standards, policies, and procedures
- Stay updated on new developments in the nursing field
Skills
- Clear and concise communication without perception of rudeness
- Proficiency in using computers, clinic software, and medical equipment
Pay
Hourly wage: $20.55 - $32.00 per hour (actual wage depends on experience).
Schedule
