About the Role

The Licensed Practical Nurse is cross-trained on both clinical and administrative responsibilities, including recording vital signs, compiling patients' medical histories, administering medications under a supervising physician, scheduling appointments, billing, and assisting with insurance forms.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Practical Nursing Program
• South Carolina LPN Nursing License
• Current CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications

• One to two years of healthcare experience

Responsibilities

• Measure and record vital signs, patient medical history, and chief complaint
• Record information accurately in the medical chart
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies
• Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
• Assist with scheduling tests and treatments
• Prepare patients for examination
• Perform phlebotomy, finger sticks, and collect lab specimens
• Assist providers with exams and minor office surgery
• Adhere to infection control policies and procedures
• Screen, manage, and follow up on telephone messages from patients, referrals, and pharmacies
• Prepare and send prescriptions electronically per provider's orders
• Perform waived lab tests, EKGs, and administer injections
• Apply dressings and remove sutures as ordered by the provider
• Use CPR skills when required
• Dispose of biohazard waste according to state standards
• Maintain OSHA requirements and practice OSHA standards
• Perform accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times
• Perform other duties as assigned
