LPN Office Clinic - Radiation Oncology
About the Role
Under the supervision of the provider and/or practice leader, this position assists and delivers patient care duties, and provides administrative support throughout the practice. The role includes assisting the provider in examination and treatment of patients, performing miscellaneous delegated duties, interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information in patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. The position will be cross-trained to perform duties to enhance efficiency and continuity of delivery of patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assist the provider in examination and treatment of patients.
- Perform miscellaneous delegated duties under the direction of the provider.
- Interview patients and measure vital signs.
- Record information in patients' charts.
- Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
- Cross-train to perform additional duties to enhance efficiency and continuity of patient care.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of accredited LPN program (or equivalent) with current Ohio license.
- 1-year clinical experience in a medical/physician office setting preferred.
- Current Ohio LPN license in the state of Ohio.
- Basic Life Support Certification required.
Skills
- Ability to communicate and relate well with office staff, ancillary departments, and the public.
- Follow directions, accept orders, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Be patient, courteous, and tactful.
- Able to work under time constraints, multi-task, and work autonomously with little direction.
- Experience with the use of electronic medical records is preferred.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and follow directions.
- Practical knowledge in examination process, diagnostic and treatment room procedures, medical equipment and instruments, safety hazards and precautions, confidentiality/discretion is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Open to Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
