Schedule

• Part time, Day Shift (6:30pm–7:00am)
• 2 shifts per week

About the Role

Under the direction of the physician/provider, provides nursing care in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement care, nursing interventions, and procedures to achieve optimal patient outcomes, under the direction of the RN.
• Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure integration of information for use by the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates knowledge of administering and recording medications, including commonly used medications: action, dose, and side effects.
• Performs routine assessments and implements appropriate rescue treatments.
• Conducts comprehensive pain assessments using appropriate pain scales and uses both pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods to control pain.
• Demonstrates knowledge in the care of pediatric and geriatric populations and their family/caregiver.
• Ensures safe transfer of care with a communication handoff to the next phase of care.
• Functions as a role model for current and new staff.
• Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure, pursues professional growth, and attends all required training programs.
