LPN-NC

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to clients as outlined in section 2 of the "Practical Nurse law".
• Attend 12 hours of Person Centered Thinking training prior to or within 90 days of hire.
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Practical Nursing and current North Carolina PN License required.
• One Year Nursing Experience Preferred.
• Pass the criminal record history clearance and a child abuse clearance as well as possess a valid driver's license.
• SCM certification, observer status required.
• SCM Level 1 or 2, strongly preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment that respects client's rights.
• Assist with the development of plan of care.
• Observe client behavior and physical status and notify RN and/or Physician of changes in condition.
• Absorb clients with activities of daily living, encouraging independent behavior when appropriate.
• Serve as supervisor to Mental Health Technicians during shift.
• Perform and/or observe restraints as necessary when ordered by a licensed professional using the current approved KidsPeace restraint methodology on youth who may weigh in excess of 250 pounds and who are verbally and/or physically threatening or otherwise presenting a threat to themselves or others.
• Administer medications as per Physician's orders and observe, record, and report evidence of adverse reactions to medications.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Nursing and Leadership.

  Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age.

  Qualifications

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Practical Nursing.
  • Current North Carolina PN License.
  • One Year Nursing Experience Preferred.
