About the role
HealthPartners is hiring for a full-time LPN/Medical Assistant/EMT position in the Pediatrics department at the Arden Hills clinic. The position is eligible for a sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities
- Identify common and recurring nursing needs of the patient.
- Recognize the need for and perform routine office procedures and testing in the ambulatory care setting.
- Absorb and provide direct care to patients and families.
- Document observations, actions, and patient outcomes.
- Teach techniques or provide information according to established programs.
- Accurately and appropriately document procedures and treatments in each patient's record.
- Communicate information to other members of the healthcare team.
- Provide the patient and family with current and accurate information regarding the procedure and care.
- Perform telephone screening under direction of RN or MD.
- Serve as a catalyst in improving standards of LPN practice.
- Serve as a role model for technical conduct and practice.
- Provide support to professional and technical staff.
- Solve problems appropriately seeking assistance from members of the healthcare team.
- Effect positive response from patients and other members of the healthcare team through interpersonal skills.
Medical Assistant/EMT Position Responsibilities
- Room patients and complete vital signs and other pertinent physical measurements.
- Administer medication and clinical procedures according to authorized policy and documented according to HealthPartners policy.
- This may include DISCUS or AIMS assessment.
- Review charts for the presence of pertinent information relevant to the patient’s appointment.
- This may include Prepared Practice work as developed by the team.
- Provide and document any needed and requested health educational materials to the patient.
- Handle patient and their records in a private and confidential manner per HealthPartners policy.
- Seek medical and/or nursing assistance when encountering an acutely ill patient or a patient with a changing condition.
- Prepare exam rooms and treatment rooms and set up for procedures.
- Absorb and assist the provider as needed.
- Prepare the patient for medical interventions.
- Prepare charts and records for appointments as indicated by the type of clinic visit according to established practices.
- Check MSRs for completion and route appropriately.
- Process drug refills according to clinic protocols.
- Maintain current practice by obtaining continuing education in relevant practice areas.
- Maintain CPR certification.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing for the LPN position.
- High school diploma or GED for the Medical Assistant/EMT position.
- Current LPN licensure in Minnesota for the LPN position.
- Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained.
- One year working experience as an LPN is preferred for the LPN position.
- Current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration through AAMA or AMT is preferred for the Medical Assistant/EMT position.
Pay
The pay for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.

The schedule for this position is full-time.
