Department Details
- Travel required to support multiple locations within 75-mile radius of permanent address
- Premium Pay Rates:
- $10/hour premium on all hours worked
- $1.25/hour weekend shift differential
- $1.25/hour evening/night shift differential (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
Responsibilities
- Provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
- Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting.
- Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge, utilizing appropriate age and population-specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per care plan.
- Performs testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and provides the care needed.
- Recognizes problems, recommends solutions, and responds effectively to assist in emergent situations.
- Ensures the health, comfort, and safety of residents.
- Contributes to the assessment of residents and administers medications or treatments as ordered.
- Provides technical support to healthcare professionals as needed.
- Documents resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the public.
- Works effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team.
- Communicates clearly and maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Counsels residents, family members, and/or resident advocates on prevention and treatment plans under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
- Applies knowledge of resident education principles to develop a self-care program.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3 months experience in Long Term Care required (6 months preferred)
- Minimum of 30 hours per month
- One weekend shift per month
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
- If position requires IV therapy/management skills, the following is required in North Dakota: graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility.
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges.
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications.
- Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility.
Pay
- Salary Range: $24.00 - $36.00 per hour
