About the role

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) work to promote health, prevent disease, and help patients cope with illness, improving the health of our community by providing exceptional healthcare. They are advocates and health educators for patients, families, and communities. When providing direct patient care, they record symptoms, reactions, and progress; assist physicians during treatments and examinations; administer medications; and assist in convalescence and rehabilitation. The LPN is integral in linking patients, their families, and their healthcare teams, fostering collaboration amongst all. Providing quality patient-centered care to ensure that patient/family needs are addressed including physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs.

Responsibilities

• Promote health, prevent disease, and help patients cope with illness.
• Serve as advocates and health educators for patients, families, and communities.
• Record symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients.
• Assist physicians during treatments and examinations.
• Administer medications.
• Assist in convalescence and rehabilitation.
• Link patients, their families, and their healthcare teams to foster collaboration.
• Provide quality patient-centered care addressing physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of Licensed Practical Nurse Educational Program.
• 1 year clinical experience preferred.
• For OB/GYN department: 1 year clinical OB/GYN experience required.
• Completion of accredited program for Licensed Practical Nursing.
• Current LPN license, ongoing and current BLS.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking.
• Assists with lifting and moving patients.
• Lifts supplies/equipment.

Working Conditions

Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated, or ventilated facility. Routine exposure to blood and bodily fluids.

Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing, and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Mental Demands: Ability to work irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.

Pay

The compensation range for the role is $32.27-$38.07 hourly. When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, and internal equity).
