About the role
As an LPN for the MVH-Preston, you will provide person-centered nursing care for residents in a long-term care environment by delivering care and skilled procedures within the LPN scope of practice, as defined in the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act and in accordance with current federal, state and Veterans Administration regulations.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments to residents as ordered by a practitioner and under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Provide person-centered nursing care for residents in a long-term care environment.
- Deliver care and skilled procedures within the LPN scope of practice.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and Veterans Administration regulations.
Requirements
- Licensed in Minnesota as a Practical Nurse with no restrictions and in good standing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross or ability to be certified by date of hire.
- Computer skills sufficient to complete electronic charting, specifically in PointClickCare.
- Effective interpersonal skills in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, or other senior healthcare environment.
- Experience working with Veterans.
Additional Requirements
- A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check may be conducted on the top finalist(s) for the position.
- A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
