LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - Advanced Acute Care Medical Float I

Job Summary

Geisinger offers an Inpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) a $10,000 sign-on bonus and up to $40,000 in financial support to become an RN. Eligible candidates also receive up to $5 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Job Duties

• Provides clinic support to the provider, clinic staff, the patient and their family to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient's condition.
• Provides front-line office support as needed to facilitate efficient patient flow through the clinic.
• Maintains appropriate par levels of all inventory.
• Cleans and sets up examination and treatment rooms between cases; ensures required level of asepsis, availability of appropriate instruments and equipment, and preparation of patient.
• Processes instruments according to established protocols.
• Assists with orientation of new personnel to ensure that they are appropriately trained to support patients, providers and other clinic staff.
• Reviews and reinforces patient education as directed by the provider and RN to ensure the patient's understanding of medical condition and compliance with treatment instructions.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Specialty Training Program.
• Minimum of 1 year-related work experience (Preferred).
